About This Project
The Denon SC Live 4 is a standalone DJ controller with its own built-in system. I wrote an open source mapping so it also works with Mixxx, the free and open source DJ software.
I built it control by control on the hardware, adapting an earlier open source mapping for the Denon Prime 4. It covers all four decks and mixer channels, every pad mode, Sweep FX, the Beat FX strip, and meters. It follows Denon's own functions, light patterns, and color schemes, and uses the custom cue and loop colors DJs choose in Mixxx.
Much of the controller's lighting and MIDI behavior didn't appear to be publicly documented, so I worked it out by testing the hardware directly. I also added a Settings Pad mode, which uses color-coded pad lights to adjust preferences that are normally only available on the controller's screen.
What Can I Help You Build?
Whether you're starting from the seed of an idea or fixing or revamping an existing project, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
