Some of my earliest memories involved trips to movie theaters and drive-ins. Among the first-run and re-release features were STAR WARS, SUPERMAN, JAWS, SCARFACE, GREASE, SCARFACE, and an assortment of Hitchcock and Disney films. My father introduced me to these stories, knowing that I'd respond to the music as much as the stories. With those stories came introductions to the legendary composers behind them—the likes of Bernard Hermann, John Williams, Quincy Jones, and Giorgio Moroder. They were all perfect compliments to other music we shared together, such as The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Isley Brothers, The Doors, and Kraftwerk.
This foundation is what taught me everything I know about music and how music works with moving pictures. It also still fuels my work today. No matter the budget or other constraints of a project, I've always been driven by those greats to be bold, relentlessly creative, and to seize every opportunity to enhance a story, amplify emotion, and leave audiences with an unforgettable experience.
My career has mostly been driven by one particular goal: to use music as a powerful tool for storytelling. As an artist, I've had the privilege of collaborating with innovative voices in independent film, and as a professional, I've developed award-winning music, created branded experiences, and written professionally.
My unique value lies in the fact that I'm not just a composer or a songwriter—I am a multi-disciplinary creative partner. What sets my work apart is my ability to bring a wide-angle perspective to every project. My film scoring is informed by the rhythmic sensibilities of a songwriter, and my songwriting is shaped by a composer's understanding of narrative and emotion. This approach has led to critically acclaimed original scores and songs that have earned two career retrospectives and resonated with audiences long after the credits roll.
I believe that a great collaboration is built on trust, communication, and a shared passion for the project. I love working with directors, producers, and fellow creatives from the very first spotting session to the final mix, ensuring that every note serves the story. My experience on projects like the Lionsgate film May, where I not only composed the score but also served as the music supervisor, gave me a holistic understanding of the entire process, from creative inception to final execution and licensing.
Whether it’s a pop single or a cinematic soundtrack, every project is an opportunity to create something unforgettable. I'm driven by the same creative spirit as the masters who inspired me, and my commitment is to deliver bold, innovative, and timeless work that amplifies emotion and leaves a lasting impression.
Let's make some memorable magic together!
