Jammes Luckett
Founder & Artistic Director, Art Mechanix

I grew up learning to write and play by ear, with the radio, record player, TV and cinema serving as my primary classrooms. I listened to everything, from the popular icons like The Beatles, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Isley Brothers, and Kraftwerk to jazz greats, classical, world, and film music. As I grew, this musical universe expanded with exposure to many more greats in rock, electronic, hip hop and beyond. This hands-on immersion taught me that the most powerful lessons in songwriting come from fearless experimentation and a relentless curiosity. It's an approach that still defines my work today.

I specialize in writing earworms in popular styles, past and present, but my first love is putting fresh, innovative twists on the classic sounds of 1950s to 1970s pop, rock, and soul, as well as infectious music that draws heavily from it. My goal is to create songs and jingles that are not only catchy but also feel timeless—melodies and rhythms that audiences remember long after the music stops.

While my foundation is built on these classic styles, I'm known for working across many other genres and creating innovative hybrids. I’ve found that the most compelling songs often exist at the intersection of two different worlds, and I’m always pushing boundaries to find that perfect, unexpected sound. Below, you’ll find a sampling of my work that showcases this versatility and fearless creativity.

Alternative Rock

These guitar-driven tracks span the worlds of Alternative, Grunge, Punk, Post-Punk, Metal, and Melodic Rock. From anthems to ballads, these songs often subvert and deconstruct popular music. You’ll hear textured layers, syncopated rhythms and phrasing, and rich melodies and harmonies, and memorable vocal hooks all within a strong verse-chorus structure, with a clear debt to the cool jazz of the 1950s, the pop sensibilities of the 1960s, and the power of 1970s rock.

Power Pop

These tracks deliver infectious melodies and undeniable hooks, all wrapped in a guitar-driven, high-energy package. Drawing inspiration from the golden age of 1950s to 1960s pop and the punchy grit of '70s rock, our Power Pop cuts are concise, catchy, and built on a foundation of memorable vocal lines and driving rhythms. Think pure pop sensibility meets rock 'n' roll swagger.

Electronic & New Wave

Synth-driven dance tracks and cinematic soundscapes, often not easily categorized in today’s landscape, but which take listeners on a journey. Expect flavors reminiscent of Electronica, Trip Hop, Orchestral Hip Hop, and Industrial.
