About this work
"Zero Hero" was first written and recorded in 2000 and remains one of Poperratic's most popular songs. For its 25th anniversary, I directed and animated a music video for it, releasing the trailer in May 2025.
The video went on to a festival run on both sides of the Atlantic. It earned an Honorable Mention for Best Music Video at the East Village New York Film Festival, screened at Under St. Marks Theatre, and an Official Selection and award nomination at the Newark International Film Festival, chosen from more than 2,000 submissions from 85 countries. It was a finalist at the 22nd International MetaKansk Video Festival, with screenings at the JetLAG Festival in New York and in Amsterdam, and one of 30 finalists for Music Video Fest 2025. It also screened at London's Portobello Film & Art Festival, Art All Night – Trenton Film Festival and the Klein Film Festival, and won Best Music Video and the Audience Award at the Experimental, Dance, and Music Film Festival, where it streams on the WILDsound TV app.
